I have to say that I'm one of those persons who is a "lover" of life. I'm not special, nor extraordinary, but I will say that even on my so-called bad days, they are not so bad, simply because of the fact of how my day started. Every day that I wake up and open my eyes is a good day. Every day of life is a good day. I'm not rich, nor poor but I do know what it's like to struggle and that life isn't always easy.
I'm a single mom who has faced and fought adversity many times and even when faced with an enemy, I find myself praying for them, even after they have offended me. I too pray for them to forgive me, accepting my own faults and actions. I'm no saint. I’m far from it.
I have found myself getting upset at persons or over trivial things. After reflecting on the day, I have sometimes felt silly, because the energy that I used getting upset at someone or something could have been used in a more positive manner.
I could have spent time calling my grandmothers to listen to them tell me about their day, I could have been talking to my son about his graduation plans, I could have told my father how much I miss him, because sometimes a girl just needs her father.
Because I'm a "lover" of life, I try to live life by showing love to others. I can get "caught up" in the momentum of having a busy schedule, but when that happens, I just remind myself to simply breathe.
I think we all need to breathe sometimes or all the time really. Even in traffic, when I start to feel my neck tense up because I know I'm running late to get somewhere, I tell myself to breathe. Remember that there's always a solution to most things.
There are things that are out of our control, like traffic, for instance. But even then, we should remind ourselves that life is not so bad and as long as we are alive, we have a chance of happiness. What we do to reach that happiness, is up to us. We all have a chance to move forward, even in times of failure. If you woke in the morning, your day is already a success.
And if that day wasn't what you had hoped it would be, if you're lucky, you wake up again the next day and the next. The wonderful thing about life is that we get so many chances even when they aren't clear at that moment. Sometimes, "clarity" takes time. Be patient and keep moving forward. The answers always come. Meanwhile, I too will keep moving forward and continue on this journey of being a “lover” of life.
